Sam Linnet is the founding member of Alturas Law Group, PLLC and a Hailey City Council member. He moved to Hailey, ID after attending law and graduate school at the University of Idaho and undergraduate at The College of Idaho. Sam has always had a passion for fighting against injustice and advocating for people. He first worked for the Nez Perce Tribe in their Office of Legal Counsel where he advocated for tribal treaty rights in the context of environmental and natural resource protection. He started his own law practice in 2017, and devotes much of his practice to working with The Alliance and representing private client’s in conservation and environmental issues. He started volunteering with The Alliance from its very early days as a fledgling non-profit, and is incredibly thankful for the opportunity to help the organization grow and provide legal services to the Wood River Valley immigrant community.

Sam lives in Hailey with his wife, Molli, their two kids, Harvey (2) and Elta (<1), and their dog, Holly. When Sam is not working or spending time with his family, he is running for the Gauge 20 Running endurance team, skis in the Idaho backcountry, and dreaming up big outdoor adventures with friends and family.
